Network Marketing Recruiting is Easy
The first step in network marketing recruiting is having a list of prospects to approach. The next question is how do you enroll them into your opportunity?
Network marketing recruiting secret number 1: Focus on working from home.
Most people like the idea of not having to wear a suit. So tell them about wearing your pajamas and floppy house slippers in your thirty second commute to the office (in your spare bedroom).
Make sure you talk a bit about how you enjoy the freedom of being on your own clock. How you can take time to see your kids to have lunch with friends at any time of the day.
Network marketing recruiting secret number 2: What’s their story?
After you have, for a VERY brief time shared how wonderful your life is, start asking questions. I call this the “discovery mindset”. Develop a true curiosity about your prospects life, their aspirations their challenges and their dreams.
Most people’s favorite topic is themselves. If you want to build your network marketing business you need to get the focus off of you. Be interested and ask questions to uncover what they need and how you might be able to help them get it. If you can listen and really hear the messages they are sending you can easily help them understand how you can help them solve their problems and make their dreams come true.
Custom fit your opportunity to their needs. For example, not enough time for family? Your opportunity will allow them to be completely flexible and work when their kids are not around.
They hate the nine to five or getting up early? They can do a lot of their work late in the evening. Or, if the traffic is the problem they can schedule all their travel during non-rush hour times.
Network marketing recruiting secret number 3: Share the benefits
Now you can summarize all the benefits and perks of owning their own business in their terms. Don’t try to tell them what you love about it. After discovering their challenges and desires custom fit the benefits of being on your team to what they would most like to have in their lives.
Network marketing recruiting secret number 4: Visualization
After creating a benefit framework for them, ask them to use their imagination to see themselves living out their dreams. Have them see themselves spending more time with the kids, sleeping in late every day, walking thirty feet to their desk instead of fighting thousands of other drivers early in the morning,
Ask them how it feels to be there. The key here is to get them to really put themselves in that place, feel those feelings and connect emotionally with that new future.
Network marketing recruiting secret number 5: Keep it Simple
You have spent a good deal of time learning your companies comp plan, the products and why it is such a great choice. The prospect will have plenty of time to learn it all. Just keep them focused on the goals and dreams. Feed them as much as they need to understand their choice and to take action to enroll.
Network marketing recruiting secret number 6: It’s about them, not you
Adopt a vocabulary of “you”, not “I”. Always tell them how they will learn, earn and grow. Resist the temptation of telling them, “I will teach you…”. Better to say, “You will learn to…”.
It must always be about them. Remember what a person’s favorite topic is? Yep. It’s them. Make it all about them and how they will get the support and training they need.
Network marketing recruiting secret number 7: No pressure
You really only want people to be on your team that want to be on your team. If you put a bunch of pressure on someone to enroll with you then it will come back to haunt you in avoidance, buyer’s remorse and stalled success.
Make it about them. Make it about the benefits they want. Get them excited about their future and pull them to it. If you try to push them to their future later on they are likely to see it as the future you told them to have, not the one they told you they wanted. Pull, don’t push.
The last secret (Yeah, this is the secret secret): Practice, practice, practice
This is a business. It is a business about recruiting. Always be recruiting. If this is your mantra then each prospect you work with is another chance to practice.
The big bonus for looking at it as practice is that it takes the pressure off. You don’t have to, and you never will, enroll every person you invite into your opportunity. So, just look at each new person as practice. You will get better and better.
You know, the best recruiter started off with no experience and probably really sucked at it at first. You will get better at it. Practice!
Put these secrets to work for you. Do them over and over. Reflect on each experience and see what you did well. Write it down to make sure you do it again. Write down the things that didn’t so well. Then figure out how to improve that one thing next time.
